PX is a hidden bar located around the corner from its address 728 King Street in Alexandria, Virginia. It is marked by a blue light and pirate flag. When the blue light is on, it means the bar is open for its artisan cocktails.
A cool and relaxing speakeasy that takes you back to the 1920’s. With many creative cocktails and flavorful drinks, this bar has quickly become one of my favorites in the DC area. It has a limited menu of only nuts, olives or chicken/fish and chips.
The ambiance is romantic in that you are led up a candlelit stairway to a dark bar lit up by chandeliers and candles. PX only has room for 25 patrons so book early online. We went out with the office for a quiet drink after work one evening and on another occasion to celebrate my nieces recent engagement. It is truly a beautiful and unique cocktail experience.
Holyrad Studio is a photography studio/raw event space located in the East Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY.
Created by owner, photographer Daryl Oh to foster the young, bright and creative souls of New York City. This unique studio space was inspired by Brooklyn based freelance artist, Daryl Oh who saw the need for a creative space for young artists who were always being told “No”. Ms. Oh has created the “Yes” space where the creative community can come together and be seen and heard. Saturday, June 6th was the Grand Opening of Holyrad Studio during the Bushwick Open Studios Event.
Topaz Jones was the featured performer at this amazing party. What made this rap artist so special was how he engaged with the audience both young and old.

In New York City last weekend I discovered the new Laduree restaurant at 396 W. Broadway. What a pleasant surprise.
We can now go have lunch, dinner or tea at the famous Laduree and feel like we are in Paris.
The ambiance is so classy, chic and French. From the gorgeous chandeliers to the elegant dining areas and colorful pastry display.
The Macaroons of course are authentic and delicious.
What fun just to take a peek inside even if you don’t plan to eat there.
You must, however, walk out with at least a dozen or so assorted macaroons to share with family and friends. They are simply the best!
Travelling down R Street, NW in between 16th and 17th Street I cam across a jewel of an eye care/ eye style and optometrist practice. L’occhio Eyecare Eyeware, Inc. and Dr. Richard S. Grifasi, OD with over 20 years of experience, has several eye ware stores in Delaware and most recently in the DC area. His philosophy is that the customer should always come first in every area of the eye care service. They provide diagnosis and treatment of all vision problems and eye diseases, using the latest technology. Their selection and quality of frames and lens is quite special and unique. Take a look at their newest home in the Dupont Circle area
These photos show it all. L’occhio has a very relaxed and zen feeling. If you are in the market for a new pair of glasses or contact lenses, then try to stop by this lovely optical store. Also, if you or anyone you know are looking to purchase a new home in the DC, MD or VA area, please feel free to contact Buyer’s Edge Co., Inc.

Tout De Sweet – Bethesda Coffee and Pastry Shop
This is my first blog so I want to write about my favorite french bakery/coffee shop located in Bethesda, Maryland. I was so excited when our offices moved right up the street from this very special cafe. Tout de Sweet opened about 2 years ago and has quickly established itself as one of the finest bakeries in the DC Metropolitan area. From their french macarons, to their amazing desserts, cupcakes, croissants and muffins, you feel like you are back in Paris. If you have never been to France, then you can come to this beautiful little bakery in April and feel what it is like to sit outdoors in Paris while eating a french confections with your cappuccino, latte or tea. I have been frequenting Tout de Sweet since they opened and still can not figure out the best Sweet on their menu. The menu changes depending on what’s in season, so there are always some surprises.
In France on the Eve of Epiphany which fell on the 6th of January (12 days after Christmas), people eat the Galette de Rois “king’s cake” a puff pastry with almond cream, which usually has a porcelain figurine of a king hidden inside. The person who gets the piece of cake with the trinket inside becomes “king” for a day. I brought a King’s Cake to our office this past week andDave Groberg, one of our agents, was the lucky winner. Everyone in our office had to be really nice to Dave that day.
If you are ever in Bethesda, you don’t want to miss a visit to Tout de Sweet. Come by the Buyer’s Edge and we can go together for sweets and coffee.
